Youth Triennium Minimize

Will be held on July 20-July 24, on the campus of Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN.   Sponsored by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the CumberlandPresbyterian Churches, this event gathers Presbyterian and Reformed youth (and some of their friends) from all over the world together for worship, prayer, play and community.  Young people who will be entering high school in the fall 2010 through age 19, and who are active in their congregations, are encouraged to participate in this event.  We also need adults, age 25 and over, who are interested in accompanying youth, caring for them, playing with them, being responsible for them, listening to their ideas, and active in one of our presbytery’s congregations.  Our presbytery’s delegation will gather on Monday evening, July 19, in Charleston, for community building and to get an early start on the 20th.  The cost per youth will be $425; for adults, $125, which includes transportation.  Young adults who will be 19-22 years of age on July 20, 2010, are encouraged to apply to be part of the Triennium Work Crew; space is very limited for Work Crew, so interested persons are encouraged to apply immediately.    We have reserved 78 spots for Triennium, and anticipate that we will be able to take all interested youth and the appropriate number of adults, a 1 adult for every 10 youth ratio.  Complete information should be received in church offices in early December.  The registration deadline for those wishing to attend as part of our presbytery delegation is Monday, February 22.   The Presbyterian Youth Triennium website has a great deal of information about the event, you will find it at www.presbyterianyouthtriennium.org.  For more information about the presbytery delegation, please contact Susan Sharp Campbell, 304-645-4568 or susan_sharp_campbell@hotmail.com.

Presbyterian Youth Triennium Ambassadors

NEW for 2010a Mentor Ministry for senior adults and young people at the Triennium Sharing Stories – Sharing Faith- Carrying Christ to the World, Together

Triennium Ambassadors are senior adults (age 55 and older) who would like to attend the Triennium and be teachers and students of young people.  They will stay together in reserved housing (apart from the youth), be assigned to a small group, and can attend all Triennium activities.  They will have a special booth in the exhibit hall where they will take part in Faith Sharing activities each day with the youth delegates.  Ambassadors also will have their own custom-designed small group study and prayer activity focusing on helping the larger church celebrate and understand the younger church.  If space is available ambassadors are welcome to travel with our delegation or to travel on their own.  If you are interested, check out www.presbyterianyouthtriennium.org  and click on participants and then PYT Ambassadors because youth ministry isn’t limited to the young.
