A Christian citizens' movement that helps
reduce hunger by keeping national legislators informed on pending hunger
legislation. Rooted in the biblical call for justice, Bread for the World organizes
churches each year to hold Offerings of Letters. Many give to hunger relief, Bread
for the World allows one to go a step further and celebrate the gift of citizenship.

A worldwide, ecumenical, Christian organization, financed by voluntary contributions. HPI provides livestock, poultry or fish, along with training and related services, to groups of people who have organized to improve their own lives. HPI produces some curriculum and VBS resources. Parishioners give one dollar and/or a can of soup as they
leave worship the morning of the Super Bowl game. The money collected by the congregation
is given directly to the food ministry that your church chooses. For additional

Harvest of Hope is the ecumenical study/worship/action retreat program of the Society of St. Andrew. It is designed to educate youth and adults about the problem of hunger. Week-long retreats are held for senior high youth (completed grades 9-12) and their adult sponsors during the summer. Weekend retreats are held for intergenerational groups. |
