The deadline for Youth Council applications and nomination forms to be submitted to the presbytery office is Monday. All forms should be sent by that date, including the application form, parent support form (for youth) and Session’s nomination form.

The Youth Council is a very important part of our presbytery’s work with youth, as it plans and leads two youth retreats each year and assists in promoting other events for the youth of our presbytery.

The Youth Council is composed of 14 youth and 8 adults, representing the different geographical areas of our presbytery and as many churches as possible. There are openings for 6 youth and 4 adults. Youth must be in grade 10, 11 or 12 in the fall of 2018; it is anticipated that, if selected, they will serve until they graduate from high school. Adults serve a three-year term, with the opportunity to serve a second term. A Youth Council year runs July 1-June 30. Please note that we are in need of adults, especially males, who enjoy working with youth.

Persons selected to serve on the Youth Council must be nominated by the Session of the church where they are involved as members, active participants (for those pre-confirmation) or staff, and complete an application form. Those nominated to serve on the Presbytery Youth Council should be actively involved in a congregation within the presbytery and place a high priority on their commitment to Jesus Christ. The expectation is that those on Youth Council, both youth and adults, will be able to attend the youth retreats in early March and mid-November, a Leadership Development and Planning Retreat in late summer, and a planning meeting in early January.
